Chapter 3: Page 64
Well, this is inconvenient, isn’t it? These canid outposts are always in the most out-of-the-way places. Or, at least, that’s what I’m led to believe. That canid soldier in the lead seems awfully helpful too, doesn’t he? So nice!
No new news on the Kickstarter front this week, but we’re in the ‘looking at contracts and passing things back and forth’ phase, in addition to beginning some tweaks to art material that we’ll be using for the final items, as well as researching the final shape and form of the pledge rewards. It’s been a long process, and of course Rachel is working on the pages AND the rewards stuff simultaneously now, but we’re chipping away at it! The moment we have something new and exciting to share, we will let you know.
Personal plug: this past week, we launched Episode 3 of Guild Wars 2: Living World‘s fourth season of story content. This is the first episode I’ve contributed to in a major way, handling the story development and script for the Deepstone Fractal. You can watch somebody give it a full playthrough here:
The voice of Torin is Jon DiMaggio, known for his work as the voice of Bender on Futurama and Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War series. The “Voice” is Steve Blum, who plays Rytlock Brimstone in Guild Wars 2 proper, but you might also recognize from literally everything. I’ll be contributing more to the Guild Wars 2 universe going forward, and am very excited about what’s next!
For guest art this week, a great piece featuring Dakkan from Blhly!
Thanks so much for the wonderful artwork!!
And remember, if you want to share your own artwork with us and the rest of the Western Deep community, you can email it over to us at thewesterndeep (at) gmail.com!
Well Janik, they obviously brought you there to pet the ostriches!
Also I love how the sacks have ostrich logos on them.
And I love your Dakkan Bihly!
Odds of Mitria dying in the next few pages?
I’m sensing a trap! If I ever smelled one.
Btw this rendition of Dakkan is so cute, Bihyl : )
Great job!
“Why have you brought us here?”
Well… unfortunately the classic follow up to the question Janik, is…
“To die.”
Well if the Canid plan to kill Janik and company. They will have to “remove” that Vulpin in there first. Either that or the Canid garrison is in one of those feed bags on the floor. Next week we shall see.
Because there are fewer witnesses–er, I mean it’s a shortcut.
Yep, I suspected this sort of turn was coming. Whitey’s gonna try to put a few bolts in them. I just hope they survive. I have no doubt Janik will, but Mitria, well….
No, Nice Canid! He was so–er, nice. I was really hoping he was the exception that proved the rule, but it turns out that there are, in fact, no exceptions to “Canid are manipulative backstabbers”. It’s quite sad. I will mourn the death of your falsely friendly nature, sir. (And of my innocent, hopeful outlook on webcomics.)
This is starting to feel like a trap…
