HISTORY TIME
yessssssssssssssssss
Looks promising! I’m liking the artwork here and the colouring so far as well.
So I suppose there again won’t be any reptilian folks seen?
@Kahvikuppo: Nope, there are no reptilian races in the Four Kingdoms. But there’s a wide world out there, so anything is possible in the future.
And here’s another new feature introduced: the use of in-story documents and art to develop the world. I really like this device too (can’t think of many things in BTWD that I DON’T like) and I look forward to giving my thoughts on it, and the information it presents us, soon.
As an aside, the Felis script we see on this page and others, is it meant to literally translate out to something (like you really developed the language that much), or is just meant to look cool and give an authentic feel?
The time before the four kingdoms
All chaos
All discord
Seven races hated each other
The writing looks fairly similar to Japanese characters… or am I just imagining things?
I can understand the comparison. What I was shooting for was a script that looked flowing and elegant, since it seemed appropriate for a bunch of cultured cat people. (In-universe though, their calligraphy is probably much better than mine… haha.)
Well, you definitely succeeded- it looks gorgeous!
What makes this script so brilliant, is that it looks like it could be entirely written with claws, either dipped in ink, or carved into stone, with simple scratching/scraping motions. Works perfectly for the feel of this comic. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of this!
