D’aaw. Now Janik’s getting at the heart of the problem. We’ll see what Quin has to say for himself next week!
I went through my files looking for older versions of this scene, and frankly they were pretty boring. I have a tendency to go into storyboard mode for conversation scenes like this one, which produces a load of similar shots all strung together. And when there’s not any action going on besides the conversation, it’s takes even more thought to keep things from going stale. What we came out with (especially thanks to some fat-trimming on the script that Alex did) is a lot more fun to read, I think.
Blech.
No fanart this week, but I’ve got a few doodles of Janik to fill the void. Nothing fancy. ;)
Rachael, why you draw them so cute?! I love how slow this comes out, and I mean that, it’s a little pleasure I take every Saturday like a cup of fine tea. It gives me plenty of time to mull over and savour every detail.

Oh, so they’re sitting IN a tree, just on top of the canopy. I thought they were on the ground for most of the time XD

Hi there. Have just found out about this comic and I’m already very fond of it. I like a lot how the whole world and the races were built and how the story-telling goes around. It’s still at the start, but I simply love it.
I can’t wait to see the other characters, but take your time, we will be more than pleased to wait =D

Not much to say about this one except it’s really cute! Quin is lucky to have such a supportive girl by his side through all his worries. I like how the shadows play upon their back in the last panel.
I really liked the sketches of Janik too. She looks so cool in all of them – from the drinking contest, to her sarcastic glance in the lower left to her “Don’t you mess with me!” stance to the right. Really cool!
Has it still been only two days since the burial? Was Dakkan there for it?
