Chapter 2: Title
This week we’re debuting Chapter 2’s title page and the brand new chapter banner!
Mentioned in King Dabheid’s throne room in Chapter 1, General Clovis is one of the highest-ranked Canid leaders in Arklow. As Kenosh mentioned in Terria, Clovis could be an important key in the whole Ermehn/Canid situation.
The chapter banner is also brand new! This specific shot of Quin, Dak, and Kenosh looking out over the long road ahead has been an image I know I’ve had in my head for many many years. It’s almost like Rachel yanked it out of my head fully-formed – though I’ve found that’s happened quite a few times since we’ve started working on the comic!
Ah, new character that the chapter will focus on?
I sense … such great things ahead. Consider my appetite suitably whetted!
Canid look very Ermehn-like, do they share a common ancestor?
Hopefully this comment no longer makes sense. The original version was drawn at some unholy hour, and I didn’t refresh my memory of wolves well enough beforehand.
Quinlan looking back: “Can’t remember if turned off cooker…”
Just the worst feeling.
Huzzah! To the North, story. And scurvy dogs.
YES WE HAVE THE CANID NOW BE STILL MY HEART.
*cough*
I, ah, am I very excited that we’re finally going north. I’ve already been attached to the two northern races of the Canid and Ermehn, and I can’t wait to see some Canid, especially Clovis. Fantastic inking, by the way! I can’t tell if it was done with the inking tool, or some other brush. Either way, it’s nice and crisp.
And your quotation made me think worse, and immediately regret it. But let’s not go down that route. I can just picture an awfully made, cheaply-filmed romance soap opera, complete with a Romeo and Juliet plot, and infuriated quarreling on the part of the Ermehn and Canid actors on who has to be the damsel in distress, since neither of them want to fill that role.
that would be extremely amusing, to say the least
Hmm, I was quite surprised when I clicked to this page just now. It seems you have redrawn the title page, or at least the head of the Canid on it. From the comments, I gather that it was because the previous one (who can still be seen in the sketch) looked too much like an Ermehn. But I dunno, I kinda preferred the old one. This guy looks a bit too… thick and pudgy almost. The old one had an intensity I think this one lacks. Oh well…
Still, at least it’s time for Chapter 2, and all the exciting action it entails! Let’s get started…
