Chapter 3: Page 60
Those canid soldiers look a little concerned. Can you imagine why? They’re probably nervous standing before somebody in a position of such authority. I know I’d be pretty nervous if I thought I saw an ambassador.
That’s probably why they look so nervous. Not for any other reason.
It’s been a busy week, but I have a few updates for folks on various goings-on.
First and most importantly, I wanted to give everyone here a heads-up that our first big move after having re-acquired our publishing rights is going to be a… A KICKSTARTER!
That’s right, we’re going to be Kickstarting a new hardcover run of Western Deep Volume 1, with some minor tweaks to the extras section, and hopefully a limited edition hardcover and some other merch for fans who already have the book and want to support us in other ways.
We’re currently in talks with a few different folks who can hopefully help us pull together a fantastic set of products and a solid campaign, so stay tuned here and on the community Discord for more information. We don’t have a date for kickoff yet, but we’ll announce it the moment we can.
For folks living in the Seattle area, I will be attending Emerald City Comic Con next week, at the Indie Games Showcase! I’ll be showing off Never Stop Sneakin’ (which is going to be landing on Steam/PC/Mac on February 26th) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
I’ll be at the Indie Showcase on Level 2 in the North Hallway the following dates/times:
Friday: 2-5pm
Saturday: 5-8pm
Sunday: 11-2pm
Hope to see you there!!
For guest art week, I wanted to share a fun fan project by Elson Wong, who you might remember as the mind behind the voiced motion comic of Western Deep Chapter One. Seems he so enjoyed the middle section of Chapter 3 that he decided to pull his gang of actors back together and do a preview of his next fan project!
*clap!*
Oh Janik Janik Janik … I do not think you should be quite so cheerfully excited when talking to shifty canid about ravens bearing messages.
And what else can I say, but, another splendid page!
(And, oooo! Kickstarter! I shall be following THAT!)
Also totally forgot to mention that Missive on the Wing would be an excellent band name.
While we as the viewer know the doom and gloom behind what happened in Deltrada. I cant just help myself but feel as excited as Janik because of how nicely drawn her eagerness is shown :)
ikr? Even the Canid look like they don’t want to ruin her day, that enthusiasm is just so infectious!
Rude disappointment in 3…2…1…
yaaaaaaaaas kickstarter!! Can’t wait to see what the limited edition holds :D
Oh Janik.
Bless your heart for being so cheery and eager about your position of Ambassadorial Assistant to the Sunsgrove Ambassador to Navran.
Also bless your heart so that it can pump as much oxygenated blood to your legs as possible, as you may need to do some emergency cardio exercises in the form of running away from hunting canid.
Well that is not the reaction I expected from the canid. I expected more of a Look ambassador Janik. Get her! Followed by a scooby doo chase sequence in a hallway through many doors. I feel that as I’ve watched this comic that I’ve, for lack of a better term, have become very racist toward the Canid and I have no idea why. Must be because we have really only seen them as antagonists, except for one exception in a slum in Nessa. Other than that I hope Janik leveled her speechcraft.
Perhaps we should just wait for now rather than jump to conclusions. We’ve seen two angry generals and canid dying due to Ermehn radicals (and past canid actions), we can’t judge a whole race due to just a bunch of aggressors, the canid nor the Ermehn.
Basically it’s all a big mess.
Now, now. There are two exceptions in a slum in Nessa!
That is true. I still want the Eremhn to reclaim their homeland though. Still I don’t think there will ever really be peace in Dunia till the Canid military element is brought to heel and the Eremhn and Polcan get a land of their own. Or there will always be conflict and war, war never changes. I really just wanted to say that.
Yes true, so peace is no longer a possibility if the Canid are left with nothing. They will do it all over again. But I understated what you’re getting at.
We’ll see what happens as this progresses.
Finally a kickstarter! I can’t wait to see this go live.
Oh, this is going to be aaaaawkward.
Huh boy.
Do we know how well Janik specced her speed and stealth skills in BWD-as-RPG?
Unfortunately she put them all in charisma. Let’s hope she rolls a nat 20 on those Canid!
Well don’t forget that Tamians have racial bonuses in agility, acrobatics, blade, archery, and unarmed. So in the event that Janik gets herself into trouble she will have some skills to fall back on.
