Chapter 3: Page 79
Our daring quartet escapes, but to where? There’s a lot of space between Nessa and Cenolau, so that could be problematic-
Oh, hey! We’re changing scenes now, aren’t we? We ARE! Our perspective is switching, but to where? ALL THESE QUESTIONS. I’m no expert on these things, but it definitely feels like we’re going… somewhere else.
That is correct, we’re nearing the final sequence of Chapter 3! It’s crazy to think it just began in *checks notes* October of 2016.
Oh. Well, hey, think of how far we’ve come since the end of Song of the Eastern Sands! I don’t know why I’m reminiscing yet, we’ve still got a little bit left to go!
No new Kickstarter-related updates for you just yet, but I CAN say that Rachel has acquired an artist’s alley table at SAN DIEGO COMIC CON, July 18th-21st!
We’re still working out the logistics of whether it will be Rachel or “Beyond the Western Deep” featured in various website searches and promotional literature, but either way, there will be books and merch available for purchase there, and I am hoping that I will be able to put in an appearance for the show as well!
This week for guest art, a wonderful piece by ProCamel of the one and only Hardin!
It’s been a little while since we’ve seen him, but we all remember that knife, I’d wager! I absolutely love how he looks in your style, ProCamel! Definitely makes me miss the little enigmatic murder-machine.
If you have artwork of your own that you’d like us to feature on the website with a new comic page update, we have a BRAND NEW EMAIL for you to do so! That’s right, we’re finally retiring that janky ol’ gmail account and will be migrating to a website-themed email:
hello(at)westerndeep.net
Send us your guest art, questions, anything at all! We’d love to hear from you, and we’d love to share your work with the larger Western Deep community. See you all next week!
Could it be? Are we going back to the duo? Yes!
I so hope it’s Quin and Dak!! I’ve missed them so!
Dang! I wish I lived in California!! I would go to the con literally just for The Western Deep!! I just checked, and if I were to drive (whilst avoiding toll roads) it would only take about 19 hours! Of course, it’s the middle of the night right now, so that doesn’t include traffic. Ah, well, maybe someday!
Love that expression on Hardin’s face!
I’m eager to know what is coming next, this comic has twists everywhere…
Also, the first panel is amazing, I love images of landscapes like this.
Out of curiosity, how many chapters are planned in total for the whole story? (I’ve really loved following this comic, the story and art are both a tight and well-woven collaboration!)
Hi raincoyote! In terms of where we are in the overall “Beyond the Western Deep” story, I don’t like getting too far into specifics, but I WILL say I’m very happy with our progress thus far, and that we’ve still got a fair bit of story left to tell! :)
