Gosh, Rathik really doesn’t like the felis, does he? Or the canid. Or Hardin. Or Ashtor. Or anyone, really! Guy’s got some serious anger management issues. But then again, he volunteered the Sratha in Sratha-din, so he’s got a vested interest in making sure Hardin’s plan is sound. Now that there’s a foreign kingdom that seems to be involved, that certainly complicates things in his book.
But then Rathik gets to the heart of the matter–and probably because this has been on Rathik’s mind the whole time: why should Hardin get the credit? It’s Rathik’s family name, right?
Wait… does Rathik have… *GASP!* a point? Or is Hardin just angrily confused that Rathik is boiling down their battle for survival as a vanity exercise? There’s a fair bit of subtext to that expression, but Rathik definitely seems to be running with his own interpretation.

We’re really excited to finally have an online store up and running once again! Folks who have been around for a while might remember that we used to have a store that I ran personally out of my apartment in Connecticut, back when I lived on the east coast. When I moved out to the Seattle area, I put the store on hold and never quite picked it up again–mostly due to time and space constraints.
BUT! Thanks to our wonderful friends at TopatoCo, we’ve got a permanent home for all of our Western Deep books and merchandise, and we’re hoping to expand on the collection with Kickstarter campaigns to come.
We were also pleased to discover that TopatoCo had a bunch of Limited Edition Volume 1’s and Quin/Dak pin sets sitting in storage from our first campaign (their sister company Make That Thing helped manage the Volume One Kickstarter) so those have all gone up for sale as well!
