Chapter 4: Page 69
It’s these character-driven conflicts that make Western Deep what it is, I think–and they’re certainly some of the most fun material to write. Two characters bouncing off one another, each with their own motives and wants that run counter to one another, is a foundational element of drama.
Ashtor and Kenosh both having a lifetime of experience behind them and generally being the smartest people in their respective rooms makes them a wonderful pairing for this kind of conflict.
KICKSTARTER VIDEO DRAFT!
I’m pleased to share with you all a working draft of our Kickstarter pitch video for the Music of the Western Deep: Volume One campaign that’s coming up in just a few short weeks. It features an early look at some campaign rewards and pricing (subject to last-minute revisions based on campaign math of course), but does not currently feature the final album art.

We’re very excited to complete the video with Rachel’s final art in the coming week or so!
Because we’ll be starting to shift our focus to the Kickstarter, we’ll be taking a short break next week to give Rachel some time to finish the album art and focus on building out some more page thumbnails.
Don’t forget you can follow us on Twitter (link in the sidebar!) to get the latest updates on all things Western Deep!
Hm. It seems to me, that there is a good chance, that both groups of our friends will run into each other unexpectedly in that forest while escaping from Tosch and his hounds. That’s the only way I suppose, the faces of Dakkan and Kenosh could replace of the picatchu surprise face. I may be wrong, but that would be an interesting turn of the plans, changed by the violence stab by (unfortuaently) un-blessing memory Rathik.
Ooh yes! That would be an emotional moment! Although it would also be interesting if they passed through the forest and just barely missed each other lol. Either way, I’m excited to see what happens next!
Well, I think that we need to wait for that. We will see.
So are we going to be arguing over whose life is more valuable? Is Kenosh going to have regrets about siding with a guy who was so willing to throw away the lives of most of “his” tribe? Will Ashtor take this as an implication that Kenosh will favor his own flesh and blood over the survival of the Ermehn people?
*rubs hands in anticipatory glee* This is gonna be good…
A part of me regrets Rathik’s death. :/
The details in the art and plot in this story are AMAZING! Great work!
