Chapter 4: Page 83
Wow, what’s this? A page post the DAY AFTER another one?
Well, this is just us catching up following the weeks-long website transfer process. Obviously not a whole heck of a lot’s happened here since yesterday, but we’re just excited to have the website finally back up and aligned with our Twitter postings.
Well, it looks like Quinlan’s show of honesty was enough to soften Crim’s mean ol’ heart–at least a little bit! Of course the real twist in this page comes from the sudden appearance of three ermehn in the last panel.
Bevan is a great scout in the Northern Wastes, yes, but the Eastern Deep is clearly a different animal altogether–and the tamian scouts know it well enough to get the drop on anyone or anything not as familiar. Of course, the last time Bevan and Rhosyn ran into Quin and Dak, things did not go well.
… Yeah, this should be good!
I still love that Bevan tried to resolve that situation by saying “no wait, he’s not dead yet, just gravely injured”
Bevan’s the kind of guy to try and find silver linings on everything–even if that means downplaying a crossbow bolt to the chest!
Loki’s beard, this… this is bad.
Oh, no, it’s fine, she didn’t try to kill him or anything. She just fired a weapon whose defining characteristic is sacrificing accuracy to improve rate of fire into a ball-and-socket joint full of major blood vessels. I’m sure he’s forgotten all about it by now and they’re soon to be the best of friends.
(Big fan of the look on Rhosyn’s face in the “rrRAHHHHHHH” panel.)
He found Crim’s only weakness, flattery!
(That, and getting kicked in the jaw)
Hell’s bells and buckets of blood, those Deltrada pages were posted in summer 2015!!!
I almost literally couldn’t believe it when I looked them up in the archives.
WHAT IS TIME!?
With that minor existential crisis out of the way…
Alex or Rachel, if you don’t mind me asking: how carefully do you track ‘in-universe’ time for Western Deep? There are several character groups splitting up, crossing paths and generally traveling around. Presumably they need enough diegetic time to get where they are going and for meetings like the one on this page to make sense.
Do you know where they are on any particular day like Tolkien did or is it looser system?
