Chapter 4: Page 95
Before we get to the page, a quick announcement!
WE HAVE AN ONLINE STORE AGAIN!
That’s right, no more relying on BackerKit pre-order stores–we have a new permanent home for all our Western Deep physical goods. Huuuuge thanks to our Kickstarter manager, Sara McHenry, who offered to handle all of our logistics and storage on this one!
You can visit the store by clicking the new link at the top of the site, the big ol’ banner above, or THIS LINK RIGHT HERE!
Now, on to the page!
No matter what’s happened between these groups of characters, and no matter what their ingrained beliefs are, I think we know deep down that Quin and Dakkan are, above all else, decent folks.
Sure, Dak may harbor a grudge against the ermehn for… lots of reasons, and Quinlan may still be ticked off that Rhosyn shot him in the shoulder–but letting these defenseless ermehn get devoured by a swarm of treewalkers? When they can help them?
Unacceptable.
So, looks like the party’s grown a bit!
Bevan has joined the party! This is the best day ever
Hello :).
I discovered you about a year ago and I loved the whole story. It’s a pity that it caught you right at the time when you got involved with the video game and the kickstarter and the rate of publication of pages was limited. Still, I’m looking forward to the next pages to see how it progresses. You are artists, both the plot and the design of the characters and the world are sublime.
Let you know that, as far as I am concerned, your story has already crossed the Atlantic.
Greetings from Spain.
I know I wasn’t the only commenter who wondered how Crim planned to rescue the bound hostages.
Consider the question answered.
Crim is such a scamp!
If I were in Quin’s shoes (or, uh foot bandages), I’d still be peeved at Rhosyn shooting him right next to a major ball and socket joint full of important blood vessels, with a weapon whose defining characteristic is sacrificing accuracy for improved rate of fire and ease of use.
But water flows under the bridge real fast when you have a group of warmongers and a group of creepy-crawly megafauna that both want you both dead and you can use all the help you can get.
And even if it didn’t, he and Dak aren’t gonna leave someone completely helpless to get brutally torn apart by monsters. Or the big centipedes, either.
Im happy we get more Bevan and even more happy that Dakkan is proving to be the better person by saving the bound hostages! But at the same time I’m kinda happy Crim has a slight change of heart to Quinlan!
