Chapter 4: Page 99
Wow, can you believe we’re just one more page away from TRIPLE DIGIT PAGES in chapter 4? Chapter 1 featured a mere 79 pages, while Chapters 2 and 3 were certainly close at 96 and 93 pages, respectively.
This makes Chapter 4 our longest chapter thus far, and we’re not even done with the chapter, yet! I mean, how could we be? We’re still deep in the middle of a chase and complications just keep complicating!
Obviously Dakkan’s had enough of those treewalkers walking a little too close behind him (we’ve all been there) and then there’s the canid soldier in their way–when will this string of crazy QTEs finish and who will be left standing when they’re through??
Oh hey, did you know we posted over THIRTY MINUTES of gameplay footage of War of the Western Deep on YouTube from our PAX West demo? Well, here it is!
We’ve been pretty hard at work behind the scenes on War of the Western Deep, our hand-animated adventure game–and while we likely won’t have much new significant material to share for a while, we occasionally post minor updates on our social media account (specifically our Twitter) that don’t get folded into these page updates.
Hope you enjoy the footage, and of course the new page!
I have a feeling that Rhosyn is gonna come out of this with a brand new crossbow…
That wolf is monster food
Okok, I get that Canids aren’t the nicest, but they’re so cute that I want to have a canid that’s an ally and a major character!
Cain and Yurk just aren’t enough!
Well, there IS also Sigrid! The canid officer who saved Quinlan and Dakkan in Chapter 2 and was sent by General Tosch on a new assignment at the end of Chapter 3 still needs an update in Chapter 4 :)
Woo hoo! I look forward to it!
By the way, do each faction have their own fighting style? I’m very curious about Dakkan and his staff.
Same with the Ermehn, too. Do they often use knives (like at the end of chapter 1)?
As for Quinlan, what happens if his enemy gets close? Does he have a dagger that he uses in close range combat? I also wonder, is any part of his archery skills self-taught (or created by himself) of is all of it from training?
There’s so much I’m curious about in this series, but I think I should learn the characters first!
(Er, I think those are knives at least. They look pretty short.)
