Music of the Western Deep Kickstarter JULY 5th!
It’s just a little over a week away, so we’re excited to share more information about the upcoming Music of the Western Deep: Volume One Kickstarter campaign!
Nolan Markey’s music has been an integral part of our projects going back to our very first Kickstarter campaign for the hardcover Volume One book reprint, so as the world of Western Deep grew, so too did the musical side of that world as well.
The centerpiece of this campaign is going to be the album itself, which will contain about 8-12 new pieces of music, running about 30 minutes in length. We’ll also be producing a limited edition vinyl version, signed album art, and various physical printings of the musical score (including a really cool 11×17″ print of the first page of the score, called a “top sheet” that serves as a wonderful conversation piece–signed by Nolan, of course).
The album cover art will be delivered either digitally or physically (signed by Rachel!) depending on your pledge tier, and as with our preview Kickstarter campaigns, every single pledge will come with an invite to our official Western Deep Discord server.
The link to the pitch video was a little hacky last week, so I uploaded the work-in-progress to YouTube for easier watchability!
See you next week, and remember to follow our Twitter account @thewesterndeep for the latest Western Deep news and announcements!
That art is cooool!
I hope the weird little tongue on the canid’s horn flaps around alarmingly when he blows it.
Also, if you don’t mind; what is the instrument with the holes in it the polcan is playing?
It’s called a handpan drum! A bit like a steel drum, but inverted and molded together into a kind of saucer shape.
Thanks.
Already clicked the notify me on launch button, looking forward to that vinyl tier!
Thank you, Gabe! We’re really excited to put those into production :)
