Rose City Comic Con 2021!
Hi everyone! First off, my deepest apologies that the latest page hasn’t gone up yet–Rachel’s been fighting some severe burnout from the back-to-school crunch at her day job and with the run-up to the convention it just became untenable to prematurely post up what is turning out to be a very complex page with lots of little details!
We’re going to be at the convention this weekend, and will also be taking next weekend as a hiatus, but I shall be posting a short story that continues the writings of one certain felis Scholar that we met in our last short prose story about the Sentinels of the Spire!
But of course, this week is all about Rose City, and our return to the convention circuit. We’ve got quite the spread this weekend, ranging from reliable classics (*cough*SharkHunterPrint*cough*) to brand new bits of merch (are those FLOPPY DISKS?)
At the table, you’ll find the following incredible wares!
- Volume 1 and 2 hardcovers!
- Quin/Dak and Hardin/Kenosh enamel pin sets!
- Western Deep Logo and Character Emote stickers!
- 3-Mini Print Sets!
- T-Shirts based on the cover art for Volume 2’s limited edition!
- And yes, that is indeed a pile of old 3.5″ floppy disks sitting on the table!
In a nod to the classic Sierra and LucasArts adventure games that inspired it, we’ve created limited edition commemorative Wintersdawn in the Deep floppy disks with Jerome Jacinto’s incredible key art and a game download code on the front that obviates the need for an actual, working floppy drive (which we know 99.9% of our readers don’t have)!
We’re planning to have more of these custom diskettes at Emerald City Comic Con in December as well, so if you can’t get one this weekend, fear not! More are coming!
And if you want to check out Wintersdawn in the Deep but can’t get the game code, don’t forget that you can download it right here on a PC: https://westerndeep.itch.io/wintersdawn
Hope to see you at the show this weekend!
The ultimate question is then: are the floppys able to run the game if you DO have a drive to read them?
Hahaha the floppy disks are actually blank! If we did try to put the installer on them, it would take about 40 disks to fit it all :)
Thank you both so much for being at RCCC this weekend! It was great to meet you and learn about the world you two have created! This story is right up my alley, and I just gobbled up both volumes in one sitting! And I am ready for more! I look forward to exploring more of the Western Deep and everywhere else these fantastic characters go!
Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by our table, Rob! We’re so glad that you’re enjoying the world of the Western Deep, and we’re excited to print more books, create more pages, and build new stories across all different kinds of media like video games for as long as we can!
