The Abyssal Dunes: Page 07
Aha! Didn’t take Yurk that long to find Cain after all, huh? Just had to walk over to the giant hole in the floor and yell down there. The code word is “Bro.” It’s like Marco Polo. Marbro Pobro.
I’ll show myself out.
I really love the blurring effect that Jerome and Rachel went with here for the page and letting–really nails that feeling of coming to, being all groggy after doing the world’s worst swan dive through a stone floor.
Also, Can and Yurk are the only times I feel comfortable doubling up on punctuation. There’s something about them specifically where I feel like the extra question marks and exclamation points feel merited–like they’re actually leaning that much harder into their exclamations and interrogatives.
CAN YOU BELIEVE SAN DIEGO COMIC CON IS IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS?
I personally cannot. It’s July 17th-21st! EESH! That’s close!
Rachel and I will be in Artists Alley, Table DD-20! We’ll try to get a map squared away for next week to offer a little visual aid. As you can probably imagine, we won’t be posting a new page during Comic Con on the 20th–but instead we’ll post up a progress report on the first few days of the show. If you can’t make it, it’ll be like you’re really there! But only sort of!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Aww they call each other bro, how sweet!
Also, are those bones he’s laying on?
Aren’t we all, when you get right down to it, lying on bones?
I’d appreciate it, Trees, if you stopped giving me an existential crisis.
YURK IS OKAY.
that is all I have to say.
By the sound of ‘I’m coming down’, I think he’s about to hurt himself pretty bad too.
At least he’s okay.
The fact he’s lying on bones tells me otherwise.
This art style reminds me of that video called “Damien” made by Markiplier.
I remember that video! The lore behind his channel is so strange.
I’m not emotionally ready for Cain to die so if he does I’m gonna set fire to this comment section.
What if he is already dead and this is only a retrospection?
Rav, I swear to God I’ll get the gasoline.
I can borrow you some. Got some spare I use for my mower.
But does it mean that you think my retrospection idea is valid?
RAV I SWEAR TO GOD
Daaw, I love how concerned they are for each other! Although Yurk’s use of “bro” strikes me as interestingly anachronistic, given the medieval-ish setting (obviously it’s a fantasy world and the writers can have the characters say whatever vernacular they want). I wonder when the word “bro” began being in popular use?
If this bromance ends in death, I’m gonna cry.
1660s, which I think would be late medeival.
