The Abyssal Dunes: Page 42
The desert’s not the best place to learn swimming lessons, and Yurk’s definitely out of practice as you can tell. He’s also probably just a little shocked, considering how tightly he’s still holding onto that torch! As for why Cain can swim and Yurk’s having issues, I could chalk that up to “doggy paddling” being innate in canid, but the truth is I always figured Cain wasn’t born in Nessa. Perhaps his family, during its many years of wandering the Four Kingdoms, lived near a river or watering hole for a time before venturing into Zin?
In terms of newsworthy updates, we’re hopefully very close to locking in our fulfillment partner (ideally early next week), which would get us shipping costs and allow us to price out items in our BackerKit pre-order store!
Tentatively, we will have the following items available:
- Beyond the Western Deep Volume 2 Standard Hardcover
- Beyond the Western Deep Volume 1 Standard Hardcover
- Hardin/Kenosh Enamel Pin Set
- Discord Emote Sticker Sheet

- Beyond the Western Deep Quinlan/Dakkan Sticker
- 3-Print Set (Featuring art by Rachel Bennett, Leah Briere, and Tracy Butler)
We’re hoping to have at least a handful of Limited Edition Volume 2’s available as well–so I’ll let you know how those conversations with our printer go!
Poor yurk his very szchocket
Haha, called it. Hope there’s a ledge or something they can climb out onto…..
“A Canid saving my hide. HA! I’ll bet my ancestors are loving this.”
And I have a question:
If I’ve correctly observe, the Felis don’t have retractile claws (at least, not the same manner than cats).
I’m right? And if yes, why this choice?
Naw, Nessa’s just got some first-class swimming pools. Clearly.
Also, I do hope that lovely dagger doesn’t fall out of Yurk’s clothes.
Yurk’s an idiot but he held onto the treasure, so that’s a plus.
A wonderful idiot.
