Beyond the Western Deep

This is Sean Rubin’s finished guest art for Beyond the Western Deep: Volume Two! Having professionally illustrated several pieces for the legendary Redwall series (and written a foreword for the first volume of Western Deep), Sean’s presence among our guest creators for this second volume meant a lot to us.

Back in 2004 (basically the Stone Age) after trying and failing to get an officially-sanctioned Redwall video game off the ground, it was actually Sean himself who suggested I try building my own universe to tell the stories I wanted to tell. That small germ of an idea helped to build the foundations of the world of Western Deep, and I will always be indebted to Sean for that. We are honored to have his wonderful artwork in our book, featuring the Scholars of the Spire in one of Sean’s trademark libraries (dude loves drawing libraries).
