As promised, I wanted to give our readers the first full peek at everything coming down the pipe. So, without further ado, we’re proud to present our full Volume Two Kickstarter pitch video:
How about that intro animation, eh? We’ve been SO EXCITED to share that with our readers. We actually posted it up on my social media earlier this week to tease the campaign to the wider world (and with nearly 15,000 views since Tuesday I’d say we’re doing okay)!
The animation was produced by Knights of the Light Table, an independent animation studio headed up by my friend and animator extraordinaire Patrick Stannard, who work you might know from the Castlevania series on Netflix, or TWRP’s music video for Starlight Brigade.
The music was written by Nolan Markey (who did the music for our last Kickstarter pitch, with music-writing credits including Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels), and the sound mixing was done by Grammy award-winning sound designer Lucas Fehring. ALSO the music was performed by Budapest Recording with a full orchestra and chorus!
Anyway, you saw some stuff in that campaign video! Let me lay out our full pledge tier image. I warn you, it’s LOOOOONG!
That is a LOT of stuff, isn’t it? We wanted to make sure that we were offering a comparable suite of awesome stuff compared to our first Kickstarter campaign, ranging from books to book bundles to one-of-a-kind original artwork and custom commissions.
This time around, we’re aiming for $18,000 USD as our campaign goal. Production costs overall have gone up since our last campaign, both for manufacturing and for shipping, hence the bump in our “all-or-nothing” goal amount.
One thing that we assumed the first time around was that we’d scoot by at our minimum threshold–and so fervently did we believe this that we didn’t even properly plan for any stretch goals! This time, though? We’ve got a plan:
That’s right: prints, MP3s, Discord emote stickers, iron-on flag patches, a SUPER MAD OTTER DAD pin–we’ve got a whole slew of awesome bonus stuff primed and ready to go!
Obviously the most important thing in this campaign is going to be getting the word out, letting as many potential fans know about the campaign as possible so we can try and hit all these stretch goals before the campaign ends on April 2nd.
It’s been a long road getting here. We’ve actually been planning this campaign since the first one wrapped back in 2018! Rachel and I, and the whole Western Deep team couldn’t be more excited to share all this stuff with you, our wonderful readers, before the wider world gets a chance to check it out.
We hope that you’re able to support the Kickstarter campaign, and even if you can’t, that you help us by spreading the word far and wide. There’s no way that we’d be here without your support!
All right! Let’s make this Kickstarter campaign even bigger than the last one! :)
That animation is epic!!!!!!!!!!!!
I lovet
Looks really nice!
Holy expletives, Batman! Alex, Rachel and co, you have produced a very professional presentation. Accidental alliteration aside, the custom music, animation and general clarity of the whole thing is appreciated and I hope it pays off. It deserves to.
Also, if readers care to pause the video at the 11 second mark you can finally see the face of Masked Felis Brigand from way back in 2013 (!!!).
You should give someone the rights to this so there can be a TV show. IT WOULD BE EPIC!!!
You’re right, I’m with you
A show would be awesome but giving some one the rights to your product or idea is very iffy. Just look how EA handles star wars last thing I want is some company mishandling this story,
That animation was so amazing! Don’t get me wrong I love the comics but a movie or tv show would be super awesome as well!
