Chapter 4: Page 75
Looks like the gang’s going to Cenolau!
There are a couple of fun little touches that Rachel added in between the thumbnail and the final page this week that I absolutely love: for one, Hardin’s feet are uncrossed in the initial draft, but crossed in the final image. His pose and demeanor in the initial thumb are also more outreaching, a little more vulnerable. In the final image, we can see a little bit more of “Hardin the Leader,” with his outreached hand and closed eyes offering more of a “We have my permission to do this” vibe.
It makes sense, though–Hardin’s finally feeling a little more in control, a little more relaxed (even with a massive knife wound in his shoulder) and while it’s a couple subtle little things, they can go a long way to building the appropriate subtext for your characters.
Rachel and I will be attending Rose City Comic Con in Portland in just about two weeks’ time! We’ll be tabling in Artist Alley, at Table T2. That’s T2, like Terminator 2 ;)
We’ll have books, pins, prints, and even a restock of our Wintersdawn NES cartridges!
If you’re going to be at the show, be sure to swing by and say hello!
Like a boss! :)
Oh, good. Nothing bad ever happens in Cenolau.
