One of the things I’ve particularly enjoyed teasing throughout the story is the fraught relationship many members of the Sratha-din have with one another. Rathik obviously was a bit of a wildcard for reasons we’ve illuminated, and Bevan’s initial meeting with Hardin was contained with the Fall of the Evyn-din story (readable here).

But we honestly know very little about Ashtor and Hardin’s initial meeting. Or Eira’s. Or Rhosyns. There’s a lot of stuff in there that I’d love to explore someday–but right now, we just get hints like these.

As we’ve seen throughout Chapters 1, 2, and 3, Ashtor has a somewhat constrained relationship with Hardin, and that goes back even further before the comic begins. Ashtor’s very first lines in the comic back in Chapter 1 were him disagreeing with Hardin’s plans, after all.

All I’m saying is, don’t be surprised if someday you see a whole prequel story about the formation of the Sratha-din!

Oh hey, we opened up our BackerKit Pre-order Store today! If you missed our Music of the Western Deep Kickstarter campaign, don’t fret–this pre-order store is the perfect spot to nab stuff you missed, including the digital album, signed prints, and even a few of our vinyl albums that we’ve got remaining from the campaign.

You can visit the store by clicking right here!

If you backed the campaign, you can expect to get a BackerKit survey soon that’ll let you access some digital goodies (assuming your tier has them!) and also an invite link to our official Western Deep Discord Server.

See you all next week!
